We were approached by Wellington Libraries to develop a shared vision for the Beyond the Page festival. In turn the co-design process would also assist with stakeholder alignment and decision making. As part of this work, we ran a workshop that enabled library staff to partake in community engagement and chat to potential festival go-ers in person, to help them better understand how the festival could uniquely cater to the community needs. As part of the same session, we used a variety of design thinking tools used to help them rapidly flesh out ideas and logistics for how the festival experience might work based around there recently discovered unique community insights.
The images below showcase the final workshop report design which is sent out to all stakeholders summarising findings and the next steps. A set of custom illustrations were developed and used throughout the report to evoke look and feel for the future festival.
