Zealandia

The redevelopment of Zealandia’s botanical signage is the first step in a wider redevelopment of the sanctuary’s interpretation and signage system. The botanical signage will be a touchstone for future interpretation in the valley.

We developed a new visual language that will set the tone for all future signage, including custom illustrations and Te Reo Māori. We wanted people passing to be drawn in by the beauty of the illustrations and pull-out facts. Once their curiosity was sparked, they would want to continue reading further. We chose an elegant design with pops of orange so that the design would reflect rather than drawing too much attention away from the natural surroundings.
